Comparative data on electroroentgenography and film roentgenography in the diagnosjs of cardiac insufficiency

The comparison of electroroentgenograms and film roentgenograms of the thorax in 90 patients with different forms of cardiac insufficiency has revealed that in most cases owing to the edge effect, electroroentgenography allows to obtain a distinct image of pulmonary vessels in the presence of interstitial edema. Transudate does not interfere with the contours of the vessels becoming visible in the process of electrostatic image formation. This circumstance, in contrast to film roentgenography, ensures the detection of blood flow redistribution, which is an early sign of pulmonary circulation disturbances. These data may be used for the evaluation of myocardial contractility
