A panorama on research, 2008

This report proposes an overview of ADEME (French Agency for Energy Conservation and Management) sponsored research activities oriented on advances in terms of energy savings and protection of the environment in different sectors (in 2008): transports (improvement of thermal engine vehicles, development of other types of vehicles, improvement in transport planning and organisation), building (development of design tools, environmental and healthy quality, market, actors and decision process), production of electricity from renewable sources (sea and hydroelectric energy, photovoltaic energy), bio-energies and bio-products (biomolecules and biomaterials, biofuels, wood-energy, geothermal energy) and intelligent networks and energy storage (improvement of network energy efficiency, improvement of knowledge of the current and future electricity demand), eco-technologies and clean and low-consumption processes, impacts of air pollution, noise and associated monitoring, impacts of land pollution, waste management and sustainable perspectives
