Particle and energy release from sodium concrete interactions
Creators
- 1. Kernforschungszentrum Karlsruhe GmbH (Germany). Lab. fuer Aerosolphysik und Filtertechnik 1
Description
The reaction between sodium and concrete leads to an aerosol and energy release. In two test facilities (FAUNA and NALA) large and small scale experiments had been performed to investigate the consequences of such a reaction. The experiments showed clearly the influence of the sodium concrete reaction to the mechanical structure of the concrete. But there are still open questions as far as release rates (retention factors) and the hydrogen behaviour are concerned. (author)
