On the nature of the stationary processes in Penning type high voltage discharge

  • 1. AN Gruzinskoj SSR, Tbilisi. Inst. Fiziki

Description

Mechanism of electron transport across the magnetic field in the low pressure high voltage discharge has not been fully studied so far. This paper deals with the results of the discharge current calculations with the account of the ion volume charge and surface phenomena caused by the inverse bombardment of the cathode with the anomalously high energy electrons. The comparison of the theoretical dependencies with the experimental results is given. (Auth.)
