Heat transfer from inside wall of heated vertical tube at low flow rates

  • 1. Hitachi, Ltd., Power and Industrial Systems R and D Laboratory, Hitachi, Ibaraki (Japan)

Description

The heat transfer characteristics of a heated vertical tube have been investigated experimentally at low flow rates. Using the tube with 160 mm diameter and 4000mm long heating region, the heat transfer coefficient distributions of the tube were measured in the range with heat flux of 150-250W/m2 and flow velocity of 0.2-1.9 m/s. Thermal flow analysis was performed and verified for the experiment system using Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes turbulent model. (author)
