Description

Activities recorded at the peaks of the 44 radiometric anomalies delineated in the Ugep Area of Cross River State, Nigeria, by Fairy Surveys, have been normalized to the ground surface using standard formulae. The normalized activities were analysed further to determine the approximate surface uranium, thorium and potassium contents of the rocks of the area. A comparison of these radioelement concentrations and their ratios with standard values for similar rock types enabled a quick and reliable identification of the most probable areas of uranium mineralization for further investigations.
