On interatomic interaction in the indium-antimony system melts

  • 1. L'vovskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ. (Ukrainian SSR)

Description

The structure of the near order of some melts of the indium-antimonium system was studied with the aid of X-ray diffractometry. It was established on the basis of qualitative and model interpretations of the intensity and atomic-distribution curves that the nature of packing of the atoms in the melting of InSb changes in the direction of compaction of the structure with an atom coordination 5.6. In the In-Sb melt (68.3 at.% Sb) X-ray scattering occurs predominantly on ordered microregions with a structure of liquid InSb and Sb. As regards the structure the indicated alloy in the melting range is characterized by a complex ''quasieutectic'' structural model
