Description

The 250 kW(t) TRIGA Mark II reactor Vienna is described, which was built by General Atomics from 1959 to 1962 and became critical on 7th March 1962. This report comprises the following chapters: building description, TRIGA Mark-II reactor description (reactor tank, reactor lattices, fuel elements, graphite element moderator, neutron source, experimental facilities); radioactivity inventory (contaminated and activated steel, aluminium, graphite and concrete); definition and fulfillment of security objectives and planing (radiation protection, emissions and environment surveillance, fire protection, work protection, fuel elements disposal).
