Description
This publication (in French and in German) first gives a brief overview of the development of renewable energies in Europe (European policy, level of installed capacities in the world, in the EU, in France and in Germany for the different renewable energies), and proposes a more precise overview of the situation in France and in Germany (evolution of solar and wind energy capacities in Germany, political quantitative objectives in France). It gives an overview of the electric power market and trade operation, describes the role of the European Power Exchange (EPEX Spot), presents the coupling of European markets as a pillar of energy transition, this coupling being based on the Price Coupling of Regions (PCR) model. The next part proposes a return on the experience of commercialisation of renewable energies on the EPEX: presentation of the French and German support mechanisms (mandatory purchase on one side, EEG on the other side), development of direct sale in Germany, integration of renewable energies into the EPEX Spot's coupled European markets, flexibility as the key for an integration of renewable energies into the market. Perspectives are finally discussed
