Phase transformations in thermoelastic peaks in iron

Description
For the first time the model of a nonlocal thermoelastic peak of a low-energy ion has been applied to analysis of processes of radiation damages occurring in crystalline and amorphous iron under neutron irradiation. Dependences on recoil energy of temperatures and mechanical stresses which arise near to cascades of displacements with energy up to ∼ 7 keV are analyzed. The opportunity of martensite transformations as well as melting and boiling of material in peaks that were formed by recoils at neutron scattering was shown.
