The effect of vibrational correlations on the moment of inertia in a generalized Skyrme--Levinson model
Creators
Description
The Skyrme-Levinson model for rotations and the oscillator-projection method for vibrations are combined to give a generalized Skyrme-Levinson model in which rotations and vibrations are treated together on an equal basis. Expressions are given for the moment of inertia and the ground-state energy of a vibrational deformed nucleus. They are applied to the prolate and oblate Hartree-Fock solutions for ²⁸Si.
