Reaction mechanisms in pi-nuclear multi-nucleon removal processes
Description
Particle γ-ray coincidence studies illuminate the pi-nuclear reaction mechanisms in which multi-nucleons are removed. In particular there is new strong evidence of the pion interacting with fragments or clusters by sometimes scattering and removing them as a unit rather than removing the nucleons exclusively through cascading and evaporation mechanisms. There is also new ividence that pion absorption frequently occurs on multi-nucleon systems
