Description

The effect on Tokamak reactor parameters of geometrical factors, permissible plasma pressure and energy confinement time described by different formulae is considered. The optimum value of the aspect ratio is established. It is shown that the parameters of a future reactor will be greatly affected by the nature of the dependence of tausub(E) on temperature and the nature of the distribution of the plasma parameters over the cross-section. The optimum plasma parameters are determined as a function of the reactor parameters Hsub(Z), R, a, q and βsub(phi). (author)
