French experience in the separation of transuranium elements by TLA extraction
Description
A research programme has been initiated at the Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique to test the possible applications of tertiary amines (trilaurylamine) in the extraction of transuranium elements. The following are discussed: plutonium 239 purification cycle; neptunium 237 recovery and neptunium and plutonium purification; reprocessing of irradiated Pu-Al targets; Am-Cm separation. (U.K.)
