Correlational thermodynamics of plasmas. Pt. 3. Transport coefficients
Description
Within the framework of the correlational hydrodynamics presented in part II only the conductivity of a plasma can be derived. To obtain the remaining transport coefficients, the so-called extended correlational thermodynamics is considered where, in addition, the balances for energy, pressure tensor, and heat flux are taken into account. Starting from the extended correlational thermodynamics both the Onsager form of the constitutive equations and the transport coefficients of a plasma with their correlational corrections will be discussed. Beyond the plasma conductivity we explicitly derive the heat conductivity and the diffusion coefficients for constant external electric fields and constant driving forces. Comparison between theoretical and experimental data closes our considerations. (orig.)
