Study of beryllium oxidation

Description

The effect of surface, temperature, time on beryllium oxidizability is studied. The hot-pressed beryllium have been tested for oxidizability using to continuous weighing installation during 4 h at the temperature of 700-1000 deg after: machining; applying passive film; applying EVVF-4 protection coating on a prepared surface. It is shown that at 700 deg the oxidation follows the linear law, it is insignificant. With temperature increase following the initial period of fast linear oxidation of passive and particularly enameled samples the growing process diffusion resistance becomes noticeable
