Microstructure and magnetic properties of Fe78-xCoxNb6B15Cu1 (x=18, 39, 60) alloys

Description

The relationship between microstructure and magnetic properties of Fe78-xCoxNb6B15Cu1 (x=18, 39, 60) alloy series has been studied. Volume fraction of the nanocrystals has been estimated from the X-ray diffraction peak intensities taking into account the different scattering powers of the crystalline and amorphous phases. An increase in the Co content in the as-cast alloy produces an increase in the coercivity of the nanocrystalline samples. Coercivity behaviour is explained in terms of the magnetoelastic anisotropy
