Description
A fitting formula and a set of fitting coefficients for the ratio σM/σr of the Mott cross section to Rutherford cross section are presented, which, with a demand for the average error less than 1.0% (as compared with the rigorous numerical value of σM/σR), reproduce the values in wide ranges of energy (from several keV to 900 MeV) and target atomic number (from 1 to 90). The fitting formula is conveniently applicable to the relevant physical problems that require this ratio as the input data. (author)
