Pollution by Americium-241 is increasing in the North-West of the Areva-La Hague site: up to + 80 pc in 7 years for this particularly radiotoxic radio-element. A first document reports the assessment of the presence of Americium-241 in the mosses and sediments of a brook located at the vicinity of the La Hague reprocessing plant, discusses the possible origins of this pollution, and proposes a comparison of Areva's and ACRO's data regarding the monitoring of this element and of other radioactive pollutants (such as strontium-90, plutonium-239, beta radiations) in the brook. Then, a communique recalls these results, evokes and criticises answers made by Areva, and asks for more transparency on this issue.
