Solvent extraction of berkelium(4) and cerium(4) with high-molecular amines in the presence of heteropolycompounds

Description

Extraction of tetravalent berkelium and cerium by high-molecular amines, as well as salts of quaternary ammonium bases, from mineral acid solutions, containing P2W17O6110- (PW) heteropolyanion and potassium bromate as an oxidizer, is studied. It is shown that PW not only stabilizes tetravalent state of metal oxidation, but also constitutes the extracted compounds, namely, Bk:PW:HNO3:TOA 1:2:4:3. The conditions of Bk(4) separation from transplutonium, rare earth and some fragmentary elements are found. 3 refs.; 4 figs.; 1 tab
