Quenched cracking of 32CrMoV12-10 steel
Description
Two rods were failed. They were found cracked after approximately one year. They were passed during quality inspection. Magnetic particle inspection was carried out as a quality test. Quench-cracks like features were observed in the rods. In this regard it is suggested to consider the lower hardening temperature (840-950 degree C) instead of 1040 degree C. (author)
