Radial excitation of hadronic states with null pontryagin index
Description
The role of instantons in strong interactions has been clarified gradually. It has been shown that the mass formulas of Shuryak and Rosner on octet and decaplet baryons can be extended to the expected hadrons in their lowest quark and anti-quark configurations by an algebraic approach. The purpose of this paper is to extend the model so as to accommodate the hadronic states with radial excitations of hadrons carrying zero instanton number and compare the results with available experimental information. The mass relations among relevant non-strange and strange mesons and baryons have been derived consistently with the observed data. 7 refs
