Effect of oxygen defficiency of the IR spectra of YBa2Cu3Ox

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow (USSR). Inst. Spektroskopii

Description

Reflection spectra of a series of polycrystalline YBa2Cu3Ox samples with different x within 50-1200 cm-1 frequency interval are measured. Reduction of reflective ability of sample over the whole spectrum area investigated and occurrence of an aditional band near 640 cm-1 are observed due to oxygen deficiency increase. The band mentioned is connected with the occurrence of disordered oxygen vacancies in Cu1-04 chains. An increase of integral intensity of phonon TO band intensity in YBa2Cu3O6 sample at low temperatures is detected. Possible reasons for such a phenomenon are discussed
