Heat curing of radiation-induced crosslinked syndiotactic 1,2-polybutadiene
Description
The effects of oxygen and antioxidant on gel formation are studied in the electron beam irradiation of syndio-1,2-polybutadiene. Further heat treatment of the crosslinked product is carried out in order to obtain information about changes in mechanical properties. Rigidity increases to some extent by irradiation. Heat treatment seems to bring about a significant increase in specific gravity, hardness, and various strengths. 4 figures, 1 table
