Formation of niobium complexes with oxyethylidene diphosphonic acid

Description
Complexing of niobium with oxyethylidenediphosphonic acid (OEDPA) in aqueous solution has been studied by spectrophotometry and preparative method. The effect of pH of the solutions on the complexing has been investigated. It has been established that in the systems under study a complex is formed at pH 12 with a ratio Nb(5):OEDPA=1:2. The coordination compound K7[NbO(C2P2O7H3)2]x4H2O has been isolated
