An analysis of the fuel burnup calculations for WWER-440 reactors by the BIPR-5AK code
Description
A comparison is made of calculated and experimental data for the critical boron concentration and the assemblywise power distribution in WWER-440 reactors. Data for five consecutive burnup cycles of Unit 2 of the Kozloduj NPP are used. The analysis indicates that the accuracy of calculation of the burnup cycle is improved, compared to that from the other BIPR-5 versions, and can be considered as satisfactory. However, the accuracy of computation of the assemblywise power distribution and of the stretch-out operation is found insufficient
