Study on two-phase flow characteristics in pulsed-sieveplate column with annular type

  • 1. Qinghua Univ., Beijing (China)

Description

A pulsed extraction column with an annular cross section can successfully provide large-cross-section and can be made critically safe for nuclear operation. This investigation is to study the two-phase flow characteristics in annular pulsed-sieve-plate extraction column. The columns are made of glass pipe 50 mm inside diameter. One of them has an 16 mm outside diameter internal stainless steel tube, another has an 30 mm outside diameter internal tube. The annular spaces thus formed are 17 mm and 10 mm respectively. The data from this testing is correlated by semi-empirical equations. Flooding data of annular pulsed column is compared with that of cylindrical column of similar cross scction
