A spectroscopic study of the blue globular clusters in the large Magellanic cloud

  • 1. Radcliffe Observatory, Pretoria (South Africa)

Description

Spectra have been obtained for 15 blue globular clusters in the LMC. Spectral types on an arbitrary system correlate well with Johnson's reddening free parameter Q . The velocities follow the same rotation curve as that defined by the objects of extreme Population I. The velocity dispersion is slightly larger, with weak evidence for an increase with age within the sample.
