Multifractal distribution in turbulence
Description
A multifractal analysis is applied to turbulence in two and three dimensions. The generalized dimensions and f(α)-α curve are calculated for two-dimensional turbulence simulated on 5122 mesh points. As far as three dimensional turbulence is concerned, we compute the generalized dimensions and f(α)-α curve from a model previously proposed by Nelkin and the present author and compare them in a satisfactory way with the data by Meneveau and Sreenivasan.
