Coordination compounds of titanium (4), zirconium (4) and hafnium (4) with thourea

Description

Adducts of titanium, zirconium and hafnium tetrachlorides are synthesized with thiourea of the MCl4xthio and MCl4x2thio composition. On the basis of studying IR spectra of the compounds obtained it is shown that the thiourea is coordinated to titanium, zirconium and hafnium through the sulfur atom. An assumption is made that in complexes of the MCl4x2thio composition only one ligand molecule is coordinated to metal, while the second one is retained in the complex by hydrogen bonds
