Technique for performance testing of diamond radiation detector

The purpose of the invention is to reduce quality control time of nuclear radiation diamond detectors. To achieve the goal at the known method of quality control of nuclear radiation diamond detectors including ionizing irradiation of the detector, for example, by α- or β-particles before irradiation the detector is kept in an electric field. After field removal the detector is irradiated and its applicability is determined by a signal recorded from it with an amplitude exceeding or coinciding with the threshold value having the same polarity as under radiation detection by the detector in the electric field. The threshold value is chosen to be equal to 20-40% of signal amplitude under detection of the same radiation by the same detector. According to the second variant the control method comprises the following operations: the diamond detector is connected to an voltage source and it is simultaneously irradiated by uonizing radiation. Then irradiation is stopped and the electric field is removed. After transient quenching in the detecting system the detector is irradiated by ionizing radiation again, and the detector signal is recorded. The detectors are considered applicable, when under distortion of the space charge pulses conserve the same polarity as under ordinary particle detection in an electric field. In both variants time expenditures are approximately the same, they make up ∼ 1-2 min
