In vivo visualization of rat anaplastic carcinoma with 131I-antiferritin antibodies

Description
131I-antiferritin antibodies to human spleen ferritin were used for in vivo visualization of rat anaplastic carcinoma with relatively high ferritin content. Tissue radioactivity distribution, measured 72 h after injection, i.e. at the time of best in vivo visualization, showed the highest tissue/blood radioactivity ratio in primary tumor and abdominal metastasis of animals that received antibody. The ratio was seven times higher in primary tumor, four times higher in abdominal metastasis and two times higher in the lungs of antibody injected animals than in controls injected with normal IgG.
