Radiation from beam-plasma interaction in the presence of a dc field

Description
Enhanced conversion of beam energy to wave energy and radiation by a dc electric field (E/sub dc/) when E/sub dc/<E/sub c/r, a collective threshold dc field, is observed in a computer simulation. A significant improvement of the efficiency of traveling wave tubes and klystrons should result from this effect
