Description

Experience with the NA36 high-speed FASTBUS-based data acquisition system is presented. The multicrate system operates with a 35 m cable segment and extensive local data compression and processing. The principle data sources are a time projection chamber and associated calorimetry. A special FASTBUS interface was developed for drift- and proportional chamber readout. (orig.)
