TDF factor in hyperfractionation

  • 1. Toranomon Hospital, Tokyo (Japan)

Description

Hyperfractionation, which consisted of 1.2 Gy or 1.4 Gy per fraction, 2 fractions per day with 6 hours between fractions, was performed on 37 cases (38 sites) of several kinds of cancers. TDF factor in hyperfractionation was calculated using Goitein's equation (TDF = (RAD)1,538 x (DAY)-0.169 x 10-3) and converting 6 hours or 18 hours between fractions into 0.25 day or 0.75 day respectively. This TDF factor correlated well with acute skin reaction, but did not always reflect acute mucosal reaction. (author)
