Hydrothermal synthesis and properties of sodium pentatungstate monohydrate Na2W5O16 · H2O

Description
Compound Na2W5O16 · H2O in the form of colorless mica-like crystals of density 7.007 ± 0.005 g/cm3, which looses water in the range of 260-660 deg C and melts incongruently at 770 ± 5 deg C, has been prepared for the first time during hydrothermal synthesis from WO3 in 5-15 wt.% NaCl solution at 500 deg C and pressure of 40-50 MPa. It is ascertained that Na2W5O16 · H2O has a triclinic cell with the following parameters: a = 17.91 (1), b = 26.92 (1), c = 39.93 (1) A, λ = 99.5 (1) deg, β = 91.9 (1) deg, γ = 98.6 (1) deg, Z = 64. Phase diagram of sodium polytungstates stability in the right part of Na2O-WO3 system is refined
Abstract (Russian)
При гидротермальном синтезе WO3 в растворе 5-15 мас. % NaCl при 500 град. С и давлении 40-50 МПа впервые получено соединение Na2W5O16 · H2O в виде бесцветных слюдоподобных кристаллов плотностью 7,007 ± 0,005 г/см3, теряющее воду в интервале 260-660 град. С и инконгруэнтно плавящееся при 770 ± 5 град. С. Установлено, что Na2W5O16 · H2O имеет триклинную ячейку с параметрами: a = 17,91 (1), b = 26,92 (1), c 39,93 (1) A, λ = 99,5 (1) град., β = 91,9 (1) град., γ 98,6 (1) град., Z = 64. Уточнена фазовая диаграмма устойчивости поливольфраматов натрия в правой части системы Na2O-WO3Additional details
