Reaction of strontium salts with klinker minerals in heating

Description
By the methods of chemical, X-ray diffraction and crystal optical analyses the reaction of strontium salts with calcium aluminate is studied. It is shown that 3CaOxAl2O3 in heating with SrSO4 is decomposed with calcium free oxide formation. The results of the chemical analysis have shown that 3CaOxAl2O3 under the SrF2 effect is decomposed following the 7(3CaOxAl2O3)+SrF2=11CaOx7Al2O3xSrF2+10CaO. In heating of calcium aluminate mixture with 20 mass. % of SrCl2x3CaOxAl2O3 and 5CaOx3Al2O3 are subject to decomposition with formation of calcium free oxide whereas CaOxAl2O3 is not decomposed - free CaO in mixture annealing products has not been revealed upto 1400 deg C. The reaction process is accompanied by formation of malnaite type mineral-11CaOx7Al2O3xSrCl2 and free CaO isolation
