Description
Cost Effectiveness/Benefit techniques are an increasingly important input in decision making processes. The paper examines some fundamental aspects which are of particular importance in relation to the major uncertainties which exist. Illustrative examples are drawn from various parts of the nuclear fuel cycle with particular emphasis on reliability aspects. General conclusions are given which will apply to other areas of application. 10 refs
