Description
A shell model study has been made on three- and six-quark systems with an aim of clarifying the nature of NN interaction implied by quark cluster models. A harmonic oscillator basis is used and all states up to 2 (h/2π) ν excitations are taken into account. A stability condition for the three quark system (nucleon) against breathing mode is found to be crucial. Under the condition, it is found that the space of the six quark system included in the NN and δδ cluster model essentially exhausts important states and attractive contributions from the 'hidden color' channel and other non-cluster states are very small.
