Calculation of the effects of nonspherical molecules on the properties of hydrogen isotopes. I. Para-ortho collisions
Description
The formalism is set up for obtaining phase shifts and cross sections from the numerical solution of coupled Schroedinger equations using an angle dependent potential function in combination with a physically realistic radial potential function. The resulting computer code is then used to calculate the spherical J = 0, J = O case for comparison to previous results and to calculate the J = 0, J = 1 ortho-para case. The results are compared with the spherical potential of McConville and the ortho-para calculations of Niblett and Takayanagi
