Superstring construction

The last 4 years many new string theories have been constructed of which some seem to have all the ingredients needed for phenomenological viability. These constructions form the subject area of this reprint volume which is devoted to string-theoretical aspects of the problem of finding and describing string ground states. Although the emphasis is on four-dimensional strings, some papers on ten-dimensional strings, in which many of the ideas were developed, are also included in this selection.
