Description

Structural investigation of monoclinic (high-temperature) Sr2V2O7 modification is carried out. Parameters of triclinic cell and interatomic distances in the structure of strontium diorthovanadate are specified. Sr2V2O7 structural motive is presented. Four Sr cations are localized in capacious polyhedrons. Four V cations are positioned in tetrahedrons. Tetrahedrons in pair are united in diorthogroups V2O7. V-O distances up to bridge atoms O are considerably longer (1.801 and 1.837 A) in comparison with distances up to edge atoms (1.664-1.708 A). Comparison of Sr2V2O7 structure with the structure of potassium bichromate shows that structural motives for both compounds are completely similar
