Peculiarities of plastic deformation of Bi2Te3 single crystals and solid solutions on its base under flexural tests

Description
Mechanism of plastic deformation of monocrystals on the base of Bi2Te3 in a wide range of the deformation rates is studied. Doping is used for variation of strength characteristics. It is shown that an anomalous shape of Bi2Te3 monocrystals, deformed on the flexural testing by the three-point scheme along the trigonal axis, is determined by the laminated crystalline structure of the material and by relative weakness of chemical bonds between layers. In the process of material hardening when doping and when increasing the monocrystal deformation rate is observed a continuous transition from the anomalous shape to the normal V-like shape
