Equilibrium shapes of an ideal β=1 plasma in a magnetic field

Description
The equilibrium shape of an ideal plasma in a magnetic field produced by rectilinear and annular currents is studied theoretically. Exact solutions are found for a number of problems with plane symmetry. The Grad-Shafranov equation is solved numerically for the axisymmetric case. 10 refs., 11 figs
