Study of new scintillator UPS-923A and UPS-96M radiation stability
Description
The comparative investigation of radiation resistance of a new of plastic scintillators (PS) UPS923A and UPS96M and usually used in the high energy physics experiments PS SCSN81 was carried out. The charges of the light attenuation length (λ) after the γ-quanta (E = 10 MeV) irradiation up to the absorbed doses 10 and 40 kGr and the degree of the restoration of this characteristic of PS in the postradiation period were studied. It was shown the newly developed PS UPS923A and UPS 96M have the radiation resistance which is comparable with one of PS SCSN81 and have the high level (above 50%) of restoration of its characteristics after the irradiation was ended off
