Elevated temperature mechanical properties of transage 175 alloy (Ti-2.7Al-13V-7Sn-2Zr)

Creators

Description

Transage 175 alloy (Ti-2.7Al-13V-7Sn-2Zr) in the form of extruded 0.5-in. (12-mm) bar stock was evaluated by the following tests: short time tensile at room temperature, 500 and 800 F; creep-rupture at 800 F; and smooth bar, axial, strain-controlled, A +1.0, low-cycle-fatigue at 800 F. Short time tensile and creep-rupture strengths were found to be superior to Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo. Total strain range for 100,000-cycle runout was 1.22 percent. Exposure conditions for both fatigue and creep testing caused strain aging. The strain aging was manifested primarily by increases in strength
