Description
In this paper, the radon exhalation rate and radon concentration on 11 waste dumps of a uranium mine were measured, and the annual effective dose caused by radon was calculated. The results showed that the radon exhalation rate value measured on the waste dump in use was beyond the limit prescribed by the state management levels only the value on the remediated decommission waste dump was lower than the management limit. At the same time, the average atmospheric radon concentration above the waste dump was 72.35 Bq/m3, and its annual effective dose was 0.69 mSv. (authors)
