The effect of drugs on fractionated double contrast examinations of the small bowel

Description
The intravenous use of metoclopramid (paspertin) and ceruletid (Takus) reduces the time required for fractionated double contrast examinations of the small bowel. It also improves visualisation of individual sections of the small bowel, particularly the terminal ileum. The value of these drugs has been assessed in a prospective study in 48 patients with suspected Crohn's disease. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Der gezielte Einsatz von Metoclopramid (Paspertin) und Ceruletid (Takus), intravenoes appliziert, ermoeglicht eine Verkuerzung der Untersuchungszeit bei der oralen fraktionierten Duenndarmdoppelkontrastuntersuchung, bei gleichzeitiger untersucherunabhaengiger Verbesserung der Beurteilbarkeit einzelner Duenndarmabschnitte, insbesondere des terminalen Ileums. An bisher 48 Patienten mit dem ueberwiegenden Verdacht auf einen Morbus Crohn wurde prospektiv die Wertigkeit des gezielten Einsatzes der beiden Medikamente untersucht. (orig.)Additional details
