Solution of transient transport equation by combining the LTSN and finite difference methods

Description

In this work, we present an approach to solve the time-dependent linear transport equation combining the LTSN and Finite Difference methods. The idea of this method consists of the discretization of the time variable of the angular flux using a simple Backward Difference Finite Method, transforming the transient problem at a set of stationary one-dimensional linear transport problems.The approximation SN of these problems is solved by the application of the LTSN method. Numerical results are presented and compared with the literature. (author)
