Changes in the risk concept. Radiation-induced cancer used as an example
Description
The 'risk' concept is clearly defined and interpreted. The hazard due to ionizing radiation is defined to be a stochastic risk. The hypothetical basis of risk assessments for lower radiation doses is explained. The modifications that had to be made in the risk concept are traced out and finally, problems are set forth emanating in discussions about cost-benefit analyses and related risks, the risks to be assessed in terms of a value judgement. Abstract (German)
(MG)Additional details
